Valentina Nkwo, MSW

Therapist

Valentina joined the Nourishing Hope family as a Therapist in 2023. Valentina is a nurse and mother of three young adults. She was raised in Nigeria and emigrated to Chicago. Valentina is a Graduate of Governors State University with an MSW specialty in mental health. Prior to joining Nourishing Hope, Valentina provided therapy and advocacy for survivors of sexual assault in Lagos, Nigeria. Through her work, she helped educate teens and their families on wellness practices, healthcare and tools to process deeply traumatic events.

Valentina has worked in health care with patients and their families. Her clinical interests include trauma-informed care and understanding that “no one knows you like you do” while journeying with clients to reach their life goals. In addition to mental healthcare, Valentina enjoys music, dancing, meeting people, and traveling with her husband and her friends.
