Greg Trotter

Director of Marketing & Communications

Greg Trotter joined Nourishing Hope in October 2021 and serves as director of marketing & communications. Before joining Nourishing Hope, Greg led storytelling and media relations for the Greater Chicago Food Depository, most recently in the role of associate communications director.

Prior to working for the Food Depository, Greg was a Chicago Tribune reporter for nearly six years. For most of that time, he was a food business reporter who wrote in-depth stories about inequities in food access. In previous roles, Greg also managed communications at the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, and worked as a journalist for newspapers in Missouri and New Hampshire.

A native Southerner, Greg first came to the Chicago area in 2007 to attend Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, where he earned his Master of Science in Journalism (and met his wife, Kerry). For undergrad, he studied creative writing and literature at the University of California in Santa Cruz.

Greg is the proud dad of two daughters, June and Tess.
