Interim CEO
Mitzi Baum recently completed six years as the CEO of Stop Foodborne Illness, a national public health nonprofit. Prior to that, she built a distinguished career at Feeding America, advancing through multiple leadership roles over decades of service. She led the development and implementation of national standards, training programs, and audits across a network of 200 community food banks.
Mitzi directed agency capacity development efforts, managed multimillion-dollar grant programs from partners like Kraft Foods and Cargill and played a key role in launching Feeding America’s partnership with Starbucks for a national donation initiative. Throughout her tenure, Mitzi conducted nationwide compliance audits, program evaluations, and board development consulting, while fostering strong relationships with corporate donors, community leaders, and government officials.
