Nita Knowles
Director of Food Acquisition & Logistics
Nita Knowles joined Nourishing Hope in November 2021 and serves as the Director of Food Acquisition and Logistics. In this role, she oversees all food operations for the Nourishing Hope’s programs.
Nita has 15 years of experience in warehousing, transportation and logistics, and helped launch the largest CO2 chiller/freezer in North America with Amazon. For seven and a half years, she served as a lead transportation manager at the Chicago Transit Authority, where she helped provide quality transit connecting millions of Chicagoans to people, jobs and communities.
Nita’s love of service began at a young age, when she and her father often spent weekends collecting food from local pantries to pass out to nearby churches and communities. A native of Chicago, she graduated cum laude with a bachelor of science from Chicago State University. Nita is raising her adorable son with her husband, Andreas.
