Our New Brand

Lakeview Pantry is now Nourishing Hope

We’ve changed our name to Nourishing Hope and opened a new centrally located headquarters as we grow to serve more people in a time of heightened food insecurity.

Founded in 1970, Lakeview Pantry came to be known as one of the largest, most respected and longest continually operating food pantries in Chicago. But we’ve grown and evolved to become more than a North Side food pantry, as we provide free food, mental wellness counseling and other social services, such as job and housing assistance, to people throughout the city.

We actually began our rebranding process in 2019, but then the pandemic hit and those plans were shelved. We rebooted the process in January 2022. And on March 29, our board of directors unanimously approved the new brand and visual identity, which became official on May 20, 2022.

Our New Headquarters

As Nourishing Hope, we seek to grow our impact at a time when many Chicagoans are struggling to consistently afford nutritious meals while navigating other complex challenges. The location of our new 21,600-square-foot headquarters, at 1716 W. Hubbard Street, is significant to our plans of building more partnerships with organizations — and ultimately serving more people — on the South and West Sides.

Our New Logo

Nourishing Hope is not just a name, it’s our guiding principle. Hope is our north star that drives every service, program and interaction. When we provide nutritious food, mental wellness counseling and other social services, we’re nourishing hope for a brighter collective future.

Our logo takes the visual of a fruit stem and abstracts it so it becomes a directional element or compass that points toward a brighter future for those we serve.

The symbol can also look like a plate on which our food can be served.

Our Tagline

We’ve retained our legacy tagline: “Food for Today, Hope for Tomorrow.” It’s what we’ve always done since 1970, and what we’ll continue to do throughout Chicago.

Nourishing Hope Exists Because of the Support of Our Neighbors.

With multiple food distribution programs that deliver the equivalent of 4.5 million meals each year, plus thousands of social service visits that empower healthy lives, Nourishing Hope strives to create a city where all people have the resources needed for a dignified life. Join us today!
