Nourishing Hope believes you are the expert of your own life. Our licensed clinicians offer services designed to support and empower by partnering with you to tailor a plan to reach your unique goals. We assist you in making changes in your life by navigating the resources that are available to you.
As a free, private resource, your goals and hopes determine our course of action. You might only need a quick referral, or you may desire a long-term partnership. We’re here to get you the help you need and that is rightfully yours.
You choose what assistance you want and to what degree. We are here to assist and support you.
One-on-One Long-Term Services
By appointment only. If you want a longer term partnership with the Social Services staff at Nourishing Hope, we will complete a comprehensive service plan and meet with you as needed.
No Strings. Just Service.
Our social services program does not have physical boundaries, anyone is welcome. We keep your information confidential. You don’t have to use our food services to be a client.

Children & Families
Learn about local resources for children and families.
Employment
Receive information about local job/employment openings and resources, and receive help with resumes, interviews, and other job preparation requirements.
Financial
Work with a Case Manager to determine your eligibility for the Nourishing Hope Grant Program. Receive budgeting assistance. Learn about other financial assistance resources in the city.
Health
Receive referrals for healthcare needs, free/sliding fee scale clinics, prescription coverage resources and other needs.
Housing
Submit online applications for a variety of housing waitlists. Receive other resources.
Transportation
Request Ventra single-ride tickets for scheduled appointments. Apply for long-term transportation assistance (Benefit Access Program, Ride Free Transit card).
Domestic Violence Support
Receive support and services to escape domestic violence and the tools to restart your life.
Public Benefits
Apply for or complete a redetermination or mid-point report for Medicaid, SNAP, and or Cash Assistance. Learn how to use the abe.illinois.gov website.
Not Seeing What You Need?
Ask questions about anything and receive resources to meet identified needs. Reach out to us for a referral so that we can best assist you.
Since April 2021, we’ve provided more than 4,100 social services. More than 1,600 were completely free mental wellness counseling sessions.

How Do I Qualify For Nourishing Hope Social Services?
Everyone qualifies for Nourishing Hope Social Services. We believe that getting the assistance you need is vital to creating a better tomorrow. There are no strings and no catches — just the service you deserve.
There are three primary methods of obtaining service:
