Thank you for visiting Nourishing Hope!
We understand that coming to a food pantry for the first time can sometimes be a difficult or confusing experience, but at Nourishing Hope, we do our best to make you feel welcome and comfortable. Please be advised, you must be wearing a mask to receive services. Thank you for your cooperation and helping us keep our staff, volunteers and other clients safe!
Additionally, the option of food choice has returned to Sheridan! (Our pre-packaged “Express” distribution will continue to be available if desired.) This process might take a little longer, but we are excited to welcome you inside if you choose. Weekly produce distribution will continue to be pre-packaged.
We believe you deserve to eat well and eat what you want. Come visit us and find the food you need. Are you a new client? Save time by pre-registering here!
Areas of Eligibility
We serve our neighbors throughout Chicago whose incomes are below certain guidelines. We do NOT require proof of income but you will sign an official form that states you meet the guidelines.
Picking up food for someone else? Please fill out a form called a “Proxy.” It needs to be completely filled out and signed by both you and your proxy. We only need these forms for monthly distribution pickups.

“I get the help I need to improve the lives of my whole family. After I pay my rent and utility bills, I have nothing left over. Nourishing Hope made it possible for me to feed my girls and have enough left over to pay for my car repairs.”
