Katie Himes

Bilingual Care Coordinator

Katie joined Nourishing Hope as Care Coordinator in April 2021, where she assures client access to the appropriate social services they’re looking for. Prior to Nourishing Hope, she conducted grant research for the Educational Opportunity Centers program at DePaul University and program coordinated for racial minority youth at a local Chicago non-profit.

Katie grew up in Wheaton, a northwest suburb of Chicago, and moved to Chicago when she began her undergraduate education at DePaul University. During her time as a student, she studied and lived abroad in Chile where she solidified her Spanish fluency. She graduated in 2021 with a double bachelor’s degree in Community Psychology and Spanish. When she’s not at work, you can find Katie teaching weekly Zumba classes, writing poetry, hiking, and traveling as much of the world as she can.
